PotStock 2017 with Guillermo Guardia
PotStock opens its eighth year with guest ceramicist Guillermo Guardia. Guardia was born in Lima, Peru. He earned his MFA in Ceramics and MS in Industrial Technology at the University of North Dakota and has since participated in exhibitions throughout the country. From 2010 to 2015, Guardia held the position of artist-in-residence for the ND Museum of Art in Grand Forks, ND, and traveled across the state teaching one-week ceramics workshops in small communities. Guillermo recently moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. Check out some of his work and learn more about his passion for puzzle pieces, baby devils, mad llamas, and fat coyotes here. Images of some of his more recent work are below.
Guardia and MSU faculty and students will give ceramics demonstrations Thursday through Saturday, October 5-7 in the atrium of the MSU Student Center. Anyone can sit at a potter’s wheel and attempt to throw a vessel with direction from PotStock guests. Guardia will give a presentation of his work Thursday, October 5 at 12 p.m. in Aleshire Theatre, Hartnett Hall. Come check out his work and try your hand at ceramics!
